17 Days In Sydney

Hey everyone!

Today marks the 10 year anniversary of the start of the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.

My first Olympics, the 2000 Sydney Games -- and what an epic 17 days of non-stop filming. I had 6 different film cameras, 16mm and 35mm constantly rolling. My team and I were constantly on the go, setting up cameras, jockeying for the best position at the events, and then there was film processing and telecine to supervise. I think in the end of the 17 days we shot over 100k of film stock. My AC was the wonderful Australian, Sam Collins of Cow Films. Here is one of the great pieces NBC aired just prior to the closing ceremonies on the 17th and final evening of events. I was honored to receive an Emmy for Outstanding Cinematography for this piece.

Over and Out,
